BPS Colour Run 2026 T&C’s
How will the Colour Run work?
Gates will open at 15:20pm and the school choir will open the event with a performance from 15:30pm. There are four running “waves,” and you will select your wave when you buy tickets online. You should arrive at the school field no later than 15 minutes before your wave start time, but feel free to arrive at any time from 15:20 and set up your picnic blankets on the field!
All runners will be given a coloured wristband to indicate their wave and make their way to the start line at their assigned time. There will be a fun warm up and then runners will be released onto the course! REMEMBER it is not a race, and participants should be mindful of others.
There will be colour and water stations at various points around the course. When the runners pass, volunteers will squirt water and throw colour powder at their clothes! The course route is an oval shaped track around the school sports field, featuring various obstacles that can be jumped over, ducked under, or simply walked around! Each wave will be given 10-minutes of run time – participants can go around the course as many times as they like within this time.
What does my ticket price include?
Funds raised from entry tickets are only expected to cover the cost of putting on the event.
Entry to the Colour Run is £5 each for adults and children; this includes participation and a medal for all finishers. To keep ticket costs affordable, white t-shirts and eyewear will not be provided with the entry fee - participants are asked to supply their own, however funky sunglasses will be available to purchase with online tickets or on the day.
Adult spectator tickets are £1 and only include entry to the site. Non-running children are free.
What time should we arrive?
The gates will open from 15:20pm. You should arrive no later than 15 minutes before your wave time.
Can I run in any wave? Can I run in a different wave once I have booked?
You will book your selected wave time when you buy your tickets, and you must run in only that wave because there are a limited number of tickets available per wave. If you wish to change the time of your wave, please contact us (bridportpsfriends@gmail.com) as soon as possible, we will do our best, subject to capacity.
Do I need to run with my child?
If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, they must be accompanied around the course by a paying adult. However ALL children attending the event must be supervised by an adult, you cannot drop & leave.
If you do not want to run, feel free to enter as a spectator, watch, and cheer from the side!
Children who have not yet started school are not able to participate in the event but are welcome to spectate!
Do I need to buy a ticket if I am not running?
Yes, everyone entering the site will need to pay to enter the event. Spectator tickets for adults are available on arrival to the event and child spectators are free. You can choose whether to purchase an entry into the Colour Run; this must be pre-booked online and applies to all adults and children who wish to participate.
Can I enter to run on the day?
No, all entries must be in advance to give the us time to buy enough colour powder and medals.
If we’re not running, can we still attend to cheer on our classmates and friends?
Of course! There should be a lovely atmosphere on the day with music playing and refreshments available. You can even purchase some colour powder to throw at your classmates! Adult spectators will be asked to pay a £1 spectator fee; child spectators are free.
Will the course be marshalled?
Yes, we will have parent volunteers attending to cheer children on and keep an eye on the runners. If you are able to volunteer to marshall for one wave, please select the option on the ticket purchasing site. We need over 25 volunteers to run the event, but most only need to spare 30 minutes, please help if you can!
Will there be food and refreshments available?
Yes there will be a BBQ and licensed bar along with an ice cream van to purchase food and drink on the day.
Will there be any other stalls?
As well as refreshments there will also be a few games stalls run by our volunteers, and we will be selling sunglasses, accessories, and extra colour powder if you want to splatter your friends! Please bring cash/purchase tokens at the event for these stalls.
What if the event has to be cancelled?
The event will go ahead come rain or shine! However, in the very unlikely event that we must cancel due to dangerous conditions, we will let all ticket holders know by email and through the usual school communication channels.
Do I need to collect sponsorship to help fundraise, as well as pay for entry?
We have tried our hardest to keep the ticket entry prices as low as possible. The money from your entry tickets will only cover the costs of putting on the event, so we would love you to raise some sponsorship towards FOBPS, although this is not compulsory. Sponsorship forms and details of the online fundraising pages on our Charity Hive page will be distributed after booking your place.
To set up your own Fundraising page:
If you would prefer to simply share the main FOBPS donations page, the link to give out is https://fobps.charityhive.co.uk/donate.
All the money raised by your sponsorship will go towards the FOBPS which fundraises for lots of lovely extras for our children! Most recently we have been asked to help fund new audio/visual equipment for the main school hall, desktop cookers for classrooms, playground improvements, end-of-SATs treats for Year 6 and school trip transport.
THE COLOUR POWDER
What is the colour powder made from? Is it safe?
We have sourced our colour powder from a reputable, UK based company. The colour powder is non-toxic and non-flammable; it is created using vegetable starch and natural dyes and is EN71 certified.
What should I wear?
Although the colour powder isn’t toxic, it may irritate the eyes, so we are insisting that all runners wear sunglasses during the run (funky pairs of sunglasses will be available to buy on the day). We also suggest wearing a white-t-shirt to make the most of the beautiful colours created by the powder –to keep costs for participants low we have not provided t-shirts in the entry price so we are suggesting children use an old white school polo shirt if they do not wish to purchase a new one. FOBPS have a small number of spares available, please enquire before the event if you would like to be donated one of these.
It’s going to be a colour filled event so please do feel free to wear your craziest, most colourful accessories to go with your white t-shirt!
Will the colour powder stain my clothes?
The colour powder can stain other clothing so please only wear clothes you don’t mind having colour thrown at!
Can I wash the colour powder out of my hair?
A good wash, shampoo and condition should remove the colour although you may need to repeat this if you get a lot of colours in your hair. If you are worried about your hair being stained wear a hat or scarf or apply conditioner or oil to your hair before the event.
